      This architectural home on Drummer Cove in Wellfleet, designed by Duane Smith of Hundred Mile House in 2006, was inspired by the mid-century modern heritage in the area. The oversized sliding doors allow you to open the house up for lovely summer cross breezes, and provide a passive solar warming effect in the winter. The lower level rooms all open onto a private courtyard where the focus is on the shifting light and gentle sway of bamboo. The main ensuite bathroom has a mahogany-floored shower and cast concrete feature wall, a cast-iron tub for two, and double vanity. In-floor radiant heating keeps both lower and upper floors toasty warm in the winter, and sprayed-in foam insulation provides superior insulation (R60 roof and R27 walls). The TPU membrane roof will provide many years of trustworthy protection. Luxury finishing touches include fixtures by Kohler and Villeroy & Boch, Thermador and Fisher-Paykel appliances, Sonos sound system and built-in Bose speakers. Outside, tiered patios provide multiple areas for lounging and entertaining under the trees or around the firepit. Or when you're ready to explore, you can kayak from across the road all around Wellfleet's treasured tidal coves or walk to the nearby beach or forest trails.
